How to learn?

In most countries August is the month, when learners start a new education year. Education means getting new knowledge. And getting new knowledge is all about learning. But most persons aren't certain, how to learn and how the effective learning looks like. Now we have science to give us a secret, how to learn effectively. Today, in addition to brain training, I am going to show you in three steps, how you may learn for the best effect.


  1. Test yourself. Most learners read again and again textbooks, they working on. It is not a very good way of learning. Better way is testing, for example with questions gaved by a great number of books. At the end of divisions in books, there are frequently a questions – simply use those questions, and attempt to answer them, in place of rereading your book.
  2. Space you testing. If you desire to keep something fixed in memory, you need to repeat it five or more times. But you can't do it in one day. In place of it you need to space repetitions in time. In practice you may back to questions from your book in a week, month or before a chief school test, and attempt to answer them from memory. You may also use computer programs like Anki, Mnemosyne or Supermemo, to optimize space between every repetition.
  3. Mix up what you learn. Most people learn the same thing for a long hours. For example you learn biology for three hours or math for two. It is not a good thing. Better is to mix up, what you learn, where it is possible. In place of learn biology one day and math another, learn biology and math on every day. Mix what you learn where you can.

Teachers and learners are able to use those simple three steps to make better learning, teaching and memory. In addition you may also attempt to make wider your brain power, memory and focus level, by come after our advices: do physical exercises, eat well and sleep enough.
